Do you know that Airtel has created a tariff where you can put all your favourite numbers in a list and then enjoy a discount every time you call these numbers? It is called “Airtel Family and Friends”.





Airtel Family and Friends tariff (FAF) is a product service with which discounted call prices are made available and accessible for registered Airtel numbers.

Among all the numerous contacts we have on our smartphones, there are actually some contacts that we call regularly. For example, you can call your family (which may include your wife and kids), your employees and friends as the case may be. These contacts consume a large portion of our airtime.

How Airtel FAF Service Work

The Airtel family and friend package, allows users to register 5 selected numbers to be called with lower call rates. As an Airtel subscriber, you are permitted to add only a maximum of 5 numbers in your family and friends list.

Registration of numbers in your family and friends list is free, but if trying to add more numbers after removing previous numbers from your family and friends list, you will be charged a service fee of 50 Naira.

Airtel family and friends (FAF) call rate

Calling numbers registered on the Airtel FAF list will attract a call rate of 25 kobos per seconds, Between 6 AM and 9:59 AM

Calling numbers registered on the FAF list will attract a call rate of 21 kobos per seconds, Between 10 PM and 5:59 PM

FAF call rates are the same, regardless of the tariff plan you are on

However, if you are calling using the smartconnect bonus, the call rate is 40 Kobo per second (24 Naira per minute) irrespective of when you make the call.

Sms sent to numbers on numbers on your FAF list will attract normal charges.

 How to add numbers to Faf list

To add a number to airtel Faf list, dial *311*2*number# which is the registration code. Let’s say the airtel number you want to enjoy call discount on is 08121936220, dial *311*2*08121936220#. You will receive a pop up message telling you the number has been successfully added. You can only add five numbers at a time.

How to Delete or Remove Numbers from the List

Since there is a limit to how many numbers you can add to the list, you might sometimes need manage the list. To remove any number, just dial *311*3*number#.

Airtel Faf Code to Check Numbers on Your List

To check the airtel numbers currently added as your friends and family, dial *311*4#.

Airtel Family and Friends Relationship with SmartConnect

Smartconnect is the default tariff plan all newly registered airtel numbers are on. It also gives 800% (8 times) the amount you recharge as bonus.

Out of the said 800% bonus, 100% is for family and friends account. Meaning you can use it to call only numbers added to your faf.
