How to Use Samsung Cloud Storage App: Everything You Need to Know

If you already own any of the Samsung mobile devices (such as Samsung smartphone or Samsung tablet), then there is possibility that you already have gained access to the Samsung cloud storage app. As the name implies, Samsung cloud stoarge app is a cloud-based storage that allows you to store any information from your various Samsung mobile devices.

 

 

 

Samsung Cloud Storage App offers Samsung users (whether you are using Samsung android smartphone or Samsung tablet) free backup services. It helps users store large number of data and files. Samsung cloud app helps users to access any stored data in case of future reference. You can retrieve your stored data at any time you want it using your device.

 

It is a well-known fact that Samsung, come June 2021, will no longer will no longer allow Gallery Sync and Drive Storage for My Files on any Samsung mobile devices. And if maybe any of the Samsung customers have any premium storage package subscription plan, it will be cancelled automatically by April 2021.

 

The Samsung cloud has up to 15GB of free cloud storage. You can use this storage to back up as much files as you want and even back up your phone. While using your Samsung mobile devices, you can back up apps like Call logs, Contacts on your sim card, Messages, Calendar events, Settings, Recordings (such as voice recordings), Home Screen layouts, Files and Documents, among others. You can even sync your contact list, gallery, reminder, calendar, Samsung Keyboard, Samsung Notes, Samsung Pass, Samsung Internet, S Notes etc.

 

 

How to Use Samsung Cloud Storage App

 

We have already established that Samsung cloud is a free cloud storage device that is used to store your numerous files and data. Now, to use this storage device,

 

Step 1: Go to your phone’s setting.

Step 2: Click on “cloud and accounts” in your device settings.

Step 3: Select “Samsung Cloud” and manage your data.

You may be asked to sign in using your Samsung account or you sign up for a new account.

You can also check your cloud usage, back up your data, restore it, and sync data across multiple devices. 

 

Samsung cloud does not support microSD cards which means that there is no space for any type of external storage.

 

Note that this is a new service and may not be available on old versions of Samsung devices (meaning any Samsung device that is older than the Galaxy S6). But the good news is that the account is not subject to use on only android smartphone or tablet, it is equally linked to email address (your ID).

 

You can always access your Samsung cloud storage through a browser@ support.samsungcloud.com. Remember that you can only add files or any document of your choice through your smartphone or tablet and not by directly using your browser.

 

 

How to Use Samsung Cloud to Sync and Back up your Files

 

Step 1: Go to “Menu” and tap on the “three dots” in the top-right corner.

Step 2: Select “Settings” from the menu that appears,

Step 3: Then tap on “Sync and Auto Backup” settings.

You can tap Sync and backup while roaming just to allow syncing over a particular cellular network. You can choose to disable this option in order to conserve mobile data and only allow syncing over Wi-Fi.

 

Now, to manually sync and back up any of your selected data,

Step 1: Click on “Sync Now” to manually sync the selected data.

Step 2: Click on “Auto Backup”,

Step 3: Scroll down and slide the toggle switch to “On” for each type of data you wish to back up, such as Calendar, Contacts, or Gallery.

 

 

How to Use Samsung Sync and Auto Backup Settings

 

Step 1: Go back to the Samsung Cloud main “Menu”.

Step 2:  Click on “Your Name” at the top just to view how much storage that is available to you and how much you’re using.

 

Then, to manually backup your data,

Step 1: Scroll down and click on “Back up This Phone”.

On some devices, you can select the network options for syncing photos by clicking on “Gallery”.

 

 

How to Delete Photo Using Samsung Cloud 

 

When you have set up your Samsung Cloud account, you can then delete any image that you no longer wish to have in your cloud from your mobile device. 

 

To get started,

Step 1: Open the Gallery app.

Step 2: Select the photo you want to delete,

Step 3: Click on the “trash can” and tap “Delete”.

You can use this method to delete images even from your google photo and send it to Samsung trash can. Once deleted, you can no longer view or download the image back.

 

 

How to Delete All Photos from Samsung Cloud App

 

To delete all photos from Samsung cloud app,

Step 1: Open your Samsung cloud.

Step 2: Select “gallery”.

Step 3: Click on “Delete all Gallery Data”.

Step 4: Select “delete” and turn off sync.

It is true that you have deleted all these photos from your Samsung cloud app, but the photos will still remain on your phone’s gallery and google photos.

 

 

How to Restore Data from Samsung Cloud

 

To restore some or all of your data and settings from your Samsung mobile device,

Step 1: Open Samsung Cloud.

Step 2: Scroll down and select “Restore data”.

You can choose the type of data you want to restore (or choose Select all),

Step 3: Then click on “Restore”.

 

 

How to Access Samsung Cloud on the Web

 

To access your Samsung Cloud from your computer via a web browser, log in through the Samsung Cloud web portal @ support.samsungcloud.com to see photos, videos, and other files from all of your Galaxy devices.
