Microsoft has redesigned the windows 10 start menu and has given it a
new look. This new look is a big change that has always been rumored about.
The most obvious change is the change on the solid
blackplates behind the app logo that has been replaced with a partial
transparent background.
This new changes were discovered when LeBlanc, Senior
Program Manager on the Windows Insider Program declares that, "We are
freshening up the Start menu with a more streamlined design that removes the
solid color backplates behind the logos in the apps list and applies a uniform,
partially transparent background to the tiles. This design creates a beautiful
stage for your apps."
This new look of windows 10 start menu supports both dark and light themes but it is
more obvious in the light theme. Microsoft also notes that you can apply an
accent color if you wish.
Microsoft is modifying the color of the blocks in the start
menu to make it easier to scan app. But Brandon LeBlanc have continued to say
that “Live Tiles are not going away, those that enjoy their Live Tiles will
continue to be able to do so.”
But from the new windows 10 start menu, it seems that the live tiles will
be definitely scrapped off any time soon.
Another new feature that you can see in this new window
includes the updated Alt-Tab function that changes the way the Alt-Tab works. This
shows that you can switch through all the apps that you open.
Some default properties have also been enhanced such as the
task bar. The default apps that you pinned to the Taskbar will now change for
new accounts but it dependents on whether you linked your Android phone or Xbox
Live account.
Notifications are also being updated by adding of an app's
logo on the top left corner so you can easily see where notifications come
from.
