To get started, you have to first of all

1. Download and install the google hangouts app from the app stores but that is if it is not already installed on your android smartphone.

1. Click on the green and white “+” button at the bottom right of the app.

2. Select either the message icon for new conversation or the camera icon for a video call or even the phone icon for a phone call.

3. You can then type the name, phone number or even email address of the person you want to start the text chat, video call or phone call with and it doesn’t matter if the person uses hangouts or not.

 

N.B. If the person does not use hangouts, google hangouts will send an invite to them through their phone number or email address and invite them to use the service.

To video chat with google hangouts,

1. Click on the camera icon for video call and a window will come up.

2. In the invite people dialogue box, type in the name or email address of the person or people that you wish to invite.

N.B. You can invite as much people that you want.

3. Click on the green invite button.

The person or people will be alerted of your call. They can always accept or decline your invite as they want.

1. You first of all create a group by clicking on “New group” below the contact entry field.

2. You can then add up as many people as you want even up to 150 people.

 

To group video chat with google hangouts,

1. Just add up to 9 contacts in the entry field and then start your video chat.

2. If you are using a business account, you can add up to 24 people.

1. Click on the three vertical dots at the top right of the UI from within the group.

2. Then click on the people to want to add to the group chat.

2. Select Invite.

3. You can also share a link to an ongoing video call. When the person you share the link with clicks on that link, they can easily join the group video chat by simply signing in with their google account.
